John Bonnet Sr. has been in the employee benefits business in excess of 35 years and is regarded as one of the premier and most creative employee benefits specialists in the country. After graduating from Texas Christian University in 1960 with a degree in Insurance, he entered the insurance and benefits business in 1961. At the age of 30, he founded and became President of Equities International Life Insurance Company and it became publicly traded. After selling Equities International, he created a sales and marketing organization specializing in the employee benefit area. His success led him to consulting work with numerous large organizations as well.His creative mind led him to develop, among other things, the first group universal life program in the country in 1980, the first full administration and communication package for Section 125 plans in 1986, the First Choice program (cafeteria plan) 1976, a special group life program in 1991 which was chosen by “The Human Resource Executive Magazine” as the outstanding insurance product introduced into the human resource community during that year.He has led a company that has sold and enrolled employer groups throughout the United States, from small employers to very large employers. He has also had a lot of involvement in administration through his affiliation with a large third party administrator as well as in being President of Equities International.In short, his experience in the worksite field is extensive and successful.
